- The Gathering is announcing the birth of our new full length album Souvenirs (still a working title, but still number 1 in their album title rat race) which will be out somewhere in februari 2003. They are still mixing right now, and expect to go mastering soon. (Source: The Gathering).

- Nightwish and Spinefarm Records have started their work for a second DVD. There is hardly any official information yet, but it will not be a full concert DVD like "From Wishes To Eternity". There will be about 12 - 14 tracks of music, including promo music-videos and various self-recorded live tracks. The DVD will also include about 60 minutes of Behind The Scenes material. As the DVD is still in a very early state of pre-production, there is no release date yet and the content is not completely decided either. (Source: Nightwish).

- Sad news for Dreams of Sanity Fans !!! There will be NO 4th Dreams of Sanity album.
April 2002: "I’ m very sorry to tell you the following news... after more than 10 years Dreams of Sanity it seems like the story has come to an unexpected end. Few weeks ago I recieved a phonecall and Michael told me that there will be no 4th DoS-album released anymore (a statement by the band will be released at www.dreams-of-sanity.com soon). As you can imagine I was quite surprised by this, because I returned thinking that we could find back to former times. I want you to know that it was not my desicion (ore else I wouldn’t have returned), I’m sad about it, but it takes more than one to keep Dreams of Sanity alife. As a little “thanks” for the fans who supported us, I would like to give away somevery rare autogamm-cards from the original Komödia and Masquerade promotion, and we will try to find a possibility to release the last three DoS-songs recorded. I’ll keep you informed. Once again, I’m sorry to have such bad news for you, all I can tell you is that I will of course continue with my music, because I simply can’t live without it.

- Nightwish's second single of Century Child, "Bless The Child", was released in Finland on July 22. It contains the title song, an edit of the track and the previously unreleased song "Lagoon". On August 26th, Drakkar Records will release the single also in Germany. There will be two versions of the single which has a slightly different tracklist than the Finnish one. The normal release includes the title track and the two songs "Lagoon" and "The Wayfarer", which have not been released in Germany before. There will also be a limited DVDplus of the single which includes three DVD-videotracks in addition to the audio content. The videos are "Over The Hills And Far Away" "Bless The Child" and a 30-minute interview. (Source: Nightwish).
- The Gathering's BLD in regular shops in september & new full length album: The Black Light District album will be in the shops the 16th of september. They try to release the miniCD worldwide, but maybe it will arrive in your country a bit later. The price in the shops will not differ that much from internet price. They are still busy finishing our new full length, which will be released early 2003. Due to some touring they will do in august and oktober/november, the full length, still without title, is postponed again. (Source: The Gathering).

- Within-Temptation will release a very special limited mini-DVD on June 2. The DVD will contain 4 live songs, on tour scene's and interviews (from the French tour 03-2002) as well as... the just released video of Mother Earth in full quality. The price should be 6,99 Euro. - The Paris show of Theatre of Tragedy was filmed by D-Side Magazine. One of the songs from the show is planned to be featured on a compilation DVD with live performances from La Locomotive. Planned release is early 2003. (Source: Theatre of Tragedy).

- Nightwish’s new album, Century Child, will be released in Europe on July 1st. The album clocks in at 50 min. 17 sec and will be issued in two different versions, one that is copy protection, the other without. The first version will feature a video track on the CD and allow the purchaser to download the band's initial demo material from a special section of the official website. The non-protected version won't include those features.

- The upcoming Nightwish-single "Ever Dream" will include a cover-version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic "Phantom Of The Opera". - New album 'Black Light District' out in June.
Just returned from an exhausting 2 weeks session at the 'E-sound' studio, Weesp, but it was worth the trip! I can officially announce we will release a new album (mid priced, clocking around half an hour) on Psychonaut records.
The first couple of months this release will only be available on internet!
This album will contain the epic titletrack 'Black Light District', a song which will last a mere 16 minutes. It's a highly emotional piece of music, containing a lot of freedom and some great heavy melodies. This song didn't fit on the oktober release, which is still on the role.
A prospos the oktober album; This will be quite heavy. Defenitly the most dark, moody but also groovy album we ever made. - Hans (Source: The Gathering).

- The poll results: the the 5 Metal bands that you liked the most during the year 2001, are available (at last...).
- Nightwish will take a break of at least one year after this year's "Century Child" world tour. The reason is Tarja's opera studies in Germany. This should set an end to the rumors of Nightwish breaking up. However, this means that if you don't see Nightwish live this year, you will have to wait a long time for the next chance. - Theatre of Tragedy will release the "Let You Down" single ! The CD-single will contain the following songs :
1. Let You Down (Rico Darum & Superdead Remix. Both ex- Apoptygma Berzerk. A heavy as hell dancefloor remix!)
2. Let You Down (Album Version)
3. You Keep Me Hangin' On (Unreleased re-rendition of the old Supremes/Kim Wilde classic for the "Assembly" recording sessions)
4. Universal Race (Man-i-kin Remix. An industrial/psytrance/electrocrash version of the Goth/punk/metal song from "Assembly")
5. Envision (Conetik Remix. A mellow and relaxing version in the Underworld landscape!)
The release date is most likely May 6th and it will hopefully come in a digipak version. Unfortunately this release is for the Norwegian territory only. - 12 ½ anniversary The Gathering!!
The release of our new record in June (on Psychonaut rec.) is an anniversary record!! We will celebrate our 12½ years of existence by releasing this new album, which I can't give you details yet! It will be limited though, and of course something special.
The band started in autumn 1989. Bart, me and Rene cycled to a crappy rehearsalroom a bit outside Oss just to write some Celtic Frost inspired music. Gathering was born, things changed, but we are still here and quite proud of what we have reached and still hungry to make albums and see the world, to see you and your country! - Nightwish started to record their upcoming album in Finnvox with drum recording, and drums are ready now. Session continues in Kitee and at March they will go back to Finnvox to record vocals and mixing. Upcoming album includes 11 new songs and one cover-song. Still nameless album has also theme, but Tuomas don´t call it like "concept"-album. Album has also more authentic string-sounds. - Sandra is back in Dreams of Sanity!!
DOS: "New year, new hopes. After working with Barbara for quite some time, we realized that Dreams of Sanity is only Dreams of Sanity with Sandra's voice. So we got in contact with hear and were very glad to hear, that she is very happy to be a part of the band again.
During the Christmas-Holidays we took the time to record a two track demo featuring songs from the (hopefuly) forthcoming album that had the working-title "The End".
Talking of "The End": We considered that although the concept of the next Album is going to end the Komöida - Masquerade - The Game - cycle, "The End" is not the best title for a kind of comeback-album, that is supposed to be a new beginning for us ...
